Now all Ukrainian artists have an art block. Because you can’t read about Mariupol and go to paint. If you take up the brush – the picture will be difficult and scary – but how else can it be?
Every artist knows that it is impossible to drive pain inside – because then it will come out in seemingly joyful paintings, which will make you want to cry. It is necessary to let go of pain in order to free up even a little space, not even for joy, but for strength to return to normal life.
But I do not want destructive pictures – let what has brought us pain be destroyed, and the future we look to with hope triumph.
By the way, the next day, as I was drawing the ship, our Armed Forces of Ukraine hit a horde ship in Berdyansk.

It all started with the thought – you never know what can happen if the helmet from the spacesuit breaks? You never know what, you never know where, you never know how…. or it won’t break, but it will hatch, sprout, grow… and start a new cycle – the same, or completely different… or it won’t start, it will stop there, will live in the moment. Or eternity, eternal circulation, repetition, admiration…
Some of this is bound to happen – or is already happening.

All mimsy were the borogoves
I once thought that I wanted to say something with a painting. I once thought that I wanted to express something.
But then I realized that everyone will still see something of their own.
And I became a spectator for my paintings.
I see a strange, sleepy world where some creatures live their own small lives. And above them – the world, above them birth and death, above them something that they are not able to understand and see.
I don’t know if this is good or bad.
The title is a quote from “Jabberwocky” by Lewis Carroll.

I don’t know what it is either. Something from the subconscious. My third surreal painting.
Starting with this work, I seem to begin to feel surrealism. I’ve read hundreds of definitions, but none of them worked for me. This is precisely the feeling that cannot be described. But it can be recreated and transferred.
Yes, from picture to picture I will be brought back to realism – to some extent. But I will no longer give up these fantastic worlds. With or without reality anchors.

To be a mom – this is a state of mind. That state when you take responsibility for those who are weaker. For those who cannot help themselves. This is life on the brink of burnout – and you can’t stop.
If something threatens them, children, you can lift the truck and swim across the ocean. You can burn out a hundred times and rise from the flame, you can return from the other world – just to help.

Flying Spaghetti Monster
– Pastafarian deity, the most tolerant and cheerful deity in the world. The FSM deigned to be invented by Bobby Henderson, who offered to study Pastafarianism in schools in response to Kansas’s decision to teach religion in schools.
Pastafarianism is a real religion. Flying Spaghetti Monster gave people commandments, the general meaning of which is that everyone should do their own thing, as much as possible getting pleasure from it, and not meddle in the affairs of other people. And even more so not to condemn them and not to persecute them.
So let’s praise the Flying Spaghetti Monster, the god of friendly hedonists!

Every artist should paint a vase. Ideally, of course, with flowers.
And an avocado. And all sorts of draperies. And a pomegranate.
But so far only flowers in a vase.
Spring mood for everyone!

Remember the cartoon about Little Raccoon, who was afraid of the one who lives in the pond? It turned out that you just need to smile – the one who lives in the pond always smiles back.
I grew up and realized that we always see the reflection of our true Self, which is much deeper than just a smile.
For me, this picture is a landmark on the way to finding myself.
I want to see magic in every step, every moment. And, of course, in your reflection.
What reflection do you see?
